Even high-quality jewelry needs special care:
- Store your pieces separately to avoid the pieces knocking together
- Remove jewelry when working with chemicals, doing high impact work, swimming, doing your skincare routine, cooking, playing sports, or working out.
- All metal tarnishes, especially silver and gold. We have included a polishing cloth to help you keep your new jewelry sparkling.
- Chlorine can permanently damage or discolor silver and gold jewelry, please make sure to remove it before swimming in a pool, spending time in a hot tub, or even doing laundry.
Silver Jewelry Care Instructions
- All silver jewelry and most precious gemstones can be cleaned with warm water, mild dish soap (no detergents) and a soft brush. Basic blue Dawn® dish soap is a pretty safe bet but do not soak.
- Don't use toothpaste, baking soda and abrasives!
- Always remember to close the drain if you are using your sink – you don’t want to drop jewelry your down there.
- Rinse your jewelry in warm (never hot) water, hand-dry immediately and thoroughly.
- For silver that is tarnished, clean with a high-quality silver polish according to package instructions and avoid “dip” polishes. Take care to not get silver polish on gemstones.
- Once a year take your jewelry into your local jeweler for an ultrasonic cleaning and have the prongs checked on any gemstones. We have a list of jewelers around the country that we can recommend.
